Thanks to John Johnson for pointing to this community space dedicated to making animated movies with Lego or Lego type bricks. We have used lego previously to develop simple animation activities with Foundation students based around prepositions (The house that Butterflies Built) and in helping students to tell a back story to a DT challenge for a competition presentation This space however inspires the visual literacy possibilities of the construction kit on a new level. There are a number of really cool LEGO based animations on YouTube, particular favourites are those based around Star Wars. Having written about BlockCAD, recently been pointed to a free download from LEGO themselves by some of my students, can feel a blog post bubbling to the surface. Thanks John.
